826 Valencia is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting under-resourced students ages six to eighteen with their creative and expository writing skills.
The organization opened a new writing center and needed volunteers to help kids improve their writing skills. So we sent out an S.O.S… Placing our students’ half-written stories all around San Francisco asking people to help finish them and see what it’s like to be a tutor.
Bottles were placed all around San Francisco, and inside every bottle was an incomplete story from a student at 826 Valencia.
From the clue, individuals were pushed to the SOS website where they were encouraged to complete a child's story.
We even sent out the S.O.S digitally on Craigslist in the Lost & Found section...what better place for a lost story to go?
